A couple of new Route 66 books have been released in recent weeks.
One is “Hogs on 66 Postcards” from Marian Clark and Michael Wallis, both of Tulsa, who selected the best photos from their “Hogs on 66″ book that was a combination of motorcycle road stories and recipes. Marian also has set up a Web site, called route66roadfood.com, that includes suggested stops for food along Route 66.
Route 66er Mike Ward also alerted us to a new book, Glen Duncan’s “Route 66 in California.” With the help of Jim Conkle of the California Route 66 Preservation Foundation, it contains many vintage photographs and current images. If your order the book from the California 66 group’s site, proceeds will go back into preservation.

Author Susan A. Palmer has updated her blog to tell about her recent Route 66 trip to Needles. She says she’s using Needles as the setting for her second novel.
