Rick and Jane McKinney have posted their latest journal entry on their Walk to Reclaim America site. They have an interesting encounter with a security guard on old Route 66 in eastern Arizona — yet another example that the true purpose of their walk is to touch people.
(Note: The journal entry says Feb. 12, but it didn’t show up on the site until this morning.)

Patsy Terrell of the Patsy’s Ponderings blog traveled on Route 66 in August. She’s going to make periodic postings of photographs. The first batch of photos is here, of the Petrified Forest National Park.
“Cars” clips ignite blogger’s interest February 16, 2006

Ryan Olson at RTO Media has made a very good dissection of what he saw from the two Pixar “Cars” clips at WonderCon in San Francisco. He’s enthusiastic about seeing the Route 66-themed film because of the amount of detail Pixar animators put into their creations.
I haven’t seen those film clips, but I’ve seen a couple trailers and the Radiator Springs postcard that was featured on this site. I concur with Ryan’s assessment.
Interestingly, Ryan said he also noticed some passing resemblance of the “Cars” characters to the Chevron Cars.
Go read his post.
