“JJ’s Route 66 Cruise for ALS” video January 12, 2008

Readers may remember John “JJ” Bouma’s tour on Route 66 to raise awareness about amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, aka Lou Gehrig’s Disease, and raise funds.
A photographer traveled with the caravan to document other people near the route who have the disease. This video is the result.
Bouma died of ALS in December 2006, at age 54.
Great idea. Wish I could have been there. It is a great way to put a face on this devastating disease.
Wow! That’s an impressive video on a whole fist full of levels.
It warms us to see such a poignant portrayal of PALS in their full character and dignity. Allowing PALS to continue a full life is what drives us at EyeTech to work hard at providing communication abilities for the full duration of the disease. Thank you for taking the time to put together such a great work and help raise awareness of the full-spirited PALS.
My heart goes out to everyone at PALS and their families. I enjoyed this well thought out video. For the past three years I have been working with PALS throughout the world. This is what truly inspires us at EyeTech to provide computer access for communication to PALS . Thank you for putting together such a great video and helping raise awareness.
