Dawn Welch, owner of the historic Rock Cafe on Route 66 in Stroud, gives a little TLC to a treasure she found buried under the rubble at the restaurant, which burned May 20. Sound quality on the video isn’t great, but Cars fans will be excited to see what survived the fire:

Friends of the Mother Road Inc., a Missouri-based nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and protecting historic structures and signs along Route 66, is collecting donations to help Dawn rebuild the Rock. That is awesome. We remember the shirt hanging on the wall. I took a photo when we passed through last summer. This brought tears to my sons eyes as we watched this!
